crazy film class:
anybody heard of peggy ahwesh or stan brakhage? Odd-ball film makers (Brakhage being very famous). This art history course is out there, I am not a film maker or anything but it is astonishing the way some of these people have come up with ways to film movies, things I do not think I would ever have come up with nor anything close to normal hollywood. I found on youtube some short Brakhage stuff, unfortunately all of it are the fast motion type of films which is only one aspect (and one i don't like) of the movies he made...and he made 400 in his life! Hard to really get the effects of these films when you aren't in a big dark theater though but check them out. Soon though we get to see the Andy Warhol movies, including "China Girl"? I can't recall the title but it takes two projectors to run or something and is incredible rare to be able to rent a copy of. Posted by Kyle @ 11:39 PM PST |
