Space Cat Adventures - Test:

Why are these people dancing?

Because Space Cat Adventures has finally made it to the internet.

Yes, the internet. Anyway...

So here is a test release of Space Cat Adventures, the most awesome YTMND game ever created. Because I have used Microsofts XNA Game Studio Express, you need a set of runtimes installed, which you may or may not have depend on how often you use Windows update. Oh yeah, and you need XP SP 2 or higher, no Win2k as far as I know. All of the items below are required, earlier versions of Directx 9.0 will fail. I will upload local versions of this later when I make a final release. Please download the game, install the frameworks and tell me if things worked, I want to confirm that people can run the game before I go off and clean up the code.

Some notes about the game: I realized nothing tells you how to play, but the main menu holds the controls. There are 8 levels and 4 different level image sets. Use space to fire the cats beam, arrow keys to move. Hold the beam over the victims at the bottom of the screen to suck them up, getting all of them clears the level. The powerups slow down the enemies for a short time, the epic manuever kills all of the fighers on the screen allowing you to finish the level. Neither of these refresh, so keep them around for the higher levels. As it stands right now I can't beat the game. I have an easier version on my computer but I wanted to see if I just suck before I dumb it down to my level. Finally, sometimes the timer between levels gets stuck, I can't figure out why, but hitting enter skips those screens so you can still beat the game.

BioShock Article:

Here is the best BioShock article I have read so far. It does a good job of explaining why I want to make games.
